District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis was on Good Morning San Diego talking about the continued success of Chelsea’s Law in Sacramento. In the interview, she also discusses the need for re-entry programs and funding at the local level in the second half of the interview:
“We have to look at locking up the worst of the worst in state prison and dealing with those low-level, non violent, non-sex offenders so that we turn them around… for heaven sakes, if we’re going to let them out of prison we better have some monitorin out in the community and some opportunities to make those changes for rehabilitation…we partner with [Second Chance] on our re-entry progam, and it is a great program. Those are the kinds of things we need to do…it costs money though.”
